Makena was very helpful this year with her Valentine's for school. She wanted to do everything and even helped with the treats for Mason's class;)
The teachers mentioned that parents were invited to come to the Valentine's Day party so Makena came home and asked me several times if I would come. She seemed so excited about it, I couldn't say no. I assumed I would be the only parent there (and I was) but I showed up at party time and had a lot of fun. Makena was SO EXCITED that her Mommy was the only one who came. Mason was really excited to have me in his class too! I got a little chair and sat next to him while he ate snacks with his friends.
Once the parties were over, Makena's class was heading outside. She was really torn.....go outside and play or go home with Mommy and Mason. I told her we would sit in the car and wait for her while she played outside with her friends and then we would all go home together! While Mason and I sat in the car watching Mickey Mouse I looked over at the playground and saw all the kids playing except Makena, who had her face smashed against the fence and was looking very sad. I got out to ask her what was wrong and she said, "Mommy, can I just go home with you and Mason Man now because Mason is worried about me and needs me to be in the car with him!" And with that, school was officially over for the day:)
