Santa Claus

Santa Claus was at Daddy's work again this year! Makena was very prepared to meet him, tell him that she and her brother had been very good and ask for a few special things.  When we walked in the door, she spotted Santa and the shyness kicked in.  She didn't say she wouldn't talk to Santa but instead said she would do it if Mason went first.  Mason was less than impressed with this idea and wanted to get down as soon as I set him on Santa's lap.  Once he touched Santa's beard a few times, he was okay with the idea....but never excited!!!!  After seeing that Mason survived, Makena was ready to sit on Santa's lap....but only if Mason stayed with her;)  She smiled for a few pictures (you know, the smile that looks like she's seen a ghost) and then was ready to get down.  I picked Mason up and started putting the camera back in the bag when I turned around and noticed that Makena and Santa were having an actual conversation.  She was telling him all the things she had planned....I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!!  She did it....she really did it.  For fear that I would ruin the moment, I didn't even get my camera back out.  The important thing is, she had her first conversation with Santa at age 3 and it went great!!!!  Hopefully Mason will be the same way with the big jolly guy in another year or so.
