HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU....HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MASON....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

I feel like Mason turned one in the blink of an eye. Just a few months ago I was giving him a bath in the baby tub, making sure he was warm and cozy in his feety pajamas, and rocking him to sleep. Now he takes a bath with Makena, sleeps in big boy pj’s and reads books before bed. I’m so torn….I desperately want my baby boy back….but watching him grow up is SO MUCH FUN!

Aside from several sicknesses (beyond his control), Mason has made parenting easy in his first year. He’s a great sleeper, great eater and very adaptable. He’s happy playing with others or by himself and is LOVED by his teachers at school!!! You can’t help but smile when you see Mason smile or hear him laugh. He’s very ticklish, gives slobbery open-mouth kisses and still looks at Makena like she is the coolest thing ever! And….he’ll be walking in no time:)

Mason likes to put everything in his mouth, swing, feed himself, eat puffs, play peek-a-boo, hear animal sounds, say “ugh oh”, splash water, push buttons on the remote control or calculator, bury his face in blankets and ride on his truck or in his car.

Mason does not like to eat meat, stop playing to have his diaper changed, have his boogies sucked or have his finger nails filed.

Our most commonly used nicknames for Mason are Buddy, Budders, Budda, Mr Budda-man, Buttercup, Chunkers, Mr Chunkers, Mason Man, Monkey Man and The Man.

What a great year it’s been. Ryan and I are looking forward to all the great things Mason will be doing in the next year!! We love you buddy.
