We started working on Makena's big girl room the beginning of March. My goal was for her to be sleeping in her new bed by April 1st. There were several moments I thought it would never get done in time but we managed to pull it off and the best part was....MAKENA LOVED IT! She loved the wall color, her new bed, her closet, everything;) Definitely made our month of hard work totally worth it. Daddy even helped out with the painting (which he hates doing) and added more shelves in the closet. Uncle Michael had to help with some electrical work so Makena could have a new TV right where Mommy wanted it!
We figured the transition to a new room and full size bed would be difficult in the beginning so we prepared ourselves for the worst. Turns out Makena loved being treated like a big girl;) She adjusted SO well and loves crawling into her big bed every night to lay with Mommy and/or Daddy to read books before bedtime.
We still have picture frames and a few decorations to hang on the wall but for the most part, it's complete. We know Makena will have so much fun growing up in this room;)
