Occasionally I like to go back through the blog to read things Makena has done and see how fast she's growing! While I was doing that tonight, I realized I never added her 18 month check up. Now, I know this is going back in time since she's 19 months now....but this is important stuff people:) So....
Makena had a great check-up....with the exception of the shots, of course! She's healthy, looks perfect and is developmentally ahead of where she needs to be. What more could a mommy ask for:) She weighed 25 lbs 11 oz (68th percentile), was 32 3/4 in (78th percentile) and had a head circumference of 46 1/2 cm (47th percentile).
Surprise, surprise....when the needles entered the room, mommy headed for the waiting room. I still can't figure out why I do this to myself. I can hear her crying in the waiting room and it's AWFUL!!! I think it might actually be worse than if I stayed. In the 20 seconds I sit there, I build up such hatred for the nurse that is making my baby scream because I can't see what's going on in the room. Anyway.....Makena got 2 shots in the left leg and 1 in the right. She was very sad until we got in the car. By the time we got home, she had taken her band aids off and was perfectly fine!!!!
