A Big Day of Firsts

Today was a big day....Makena took her first steps!!!! This afternoon I held out my hands like I always do to see if she wanted to walk to me. Unlike all the other times, today she took three steps into my arms. Ryan and I could not believe it. She spent the rest of the day showing off her new walking skills:) We never imagined Makena would be taking steps at 9 months. Our baby is growing up WAY TO FAST!!!

Right before bed we tried to get a quick video of her walking but she was really tired. I'll post a better one in the next couple days.

As if that isn't enough, Makena also climbed up the stairs this morning. After breakfast she was playing in the living room and started crawling around to try to catch Brinkley. When she got to the stairs (which she's never had an interest in before) I could tell Makena REALLY wanted to follow her. The camera happened to be on the edge of the stairs so I grabbed it just in case she tried to climb up the first step. Before I knew it, I was actually watching her climb up step 2...then 3...then 4!!! Ready or not, it's time for baby gates.
