9 Months Old

Makena's growing up so quickly. She acts like her own person now....she'll tell you when she's excited/scared/happy/sad/sleepy, crawls or walks (while holding on to something) to get wherever she wants to go, pulls toys out of the toy box and puts them back, crawls to her sippy cup for a drink when she's thirsty and stands up in her crib at night when she wants her music box to be turned on. Makena likes to be held for a while when she wakes up from her naps, gives excellent hugs and kisses and loves to share!!! She'll chew on a toy and then give it to someone else to chew on for a while:)

After mama, she said baba and dada....and now puts them all together to make sentences that only she can understand! It's so entertaining to hear her talk to herself while she's playing.

She loves Brinkley and chases her around the house all the time. For now, Brinkley is faster so she's usually trying to run away:) I'll be so sad for Brinks the day that Makena starts running for her!!!

I took Makena to her 9 month check-up all by myself this week because there were NO SHOTS!!!! How fun is that:) She checked out great. The pediatrician said she is healthy, happy and couldn't look more perfect....YAY!!! She weighs 19 lbs 12 oz (50-75th percentile) and is 27 1/4 inches (25-50th percentile). We got the okay to start experimenting with table foods. Should be interesting! Since Makena just started 3rd foods recently, my plan is to mainly stick with baby food for now but throw in a few table food items here and there. We're in no hurry...so as the pediatrician said....we'll just have fun with it.
