8 Months Old

Wow....who knew one month could bring such big changes. Last month as I typed what Makena was up to she started to crawl for the first time. Now, she's EVERYWHERE!!!!! On carpet she crawls with her hands and knees but on hardwood and tile she prefers to keep her knees off the ground and just crawl with her hands and feet. It's really funny to watch. Makena's become a pro at pulling herself up on furniture, sitting back down to grab a toy and pulling herself back up again. I can tell she is starting to get brave with her new found skills b/c she will often let go and balance until she falls on her butt! This has become a game to her....she just gets right back up and does it again.

Makena will be saying Mama and Dada this month....I just know it:) There have been a couple of times when Ryan and I swear we heard her say Mama but we couldn't get her to say it again.....so I'm not counting those as the official first word!!!

Fruits and veggies are still going great! Haven't found one yet that she won't eat. Meats on the other hand are a different story. The last few days Makena has had Beef with beef gravy. Yuck...even as I type this I am throwing up in my mouth a little:) For anyone who has never had the pleasure of dealing with Beef with beef gravy...it smells...and looks....like cat food!! This is not a joke people...if you don't believe me, check it out. While she definitely doesn't like it, the one Makena hates the most so far is Chicken Noodles. It doesn't smell or taste that bad to me, but wow......she really, really, really, really HATES it!!!

Ryan and I are so excited to see what Makena will do next. She's learning so much.....and so fast!!!
