Makena is 2 months old now! We can see such a difference in everything she does. She plays on her play mat all by herself, constantly moves her arms and legs, smiles and makes lots of noises when she gets excited, sleeps longer at night, goes longer in between feedings and doesn't cry very often. She's also awake a lot more during the day but is perfectly content sitting by herself for a while just looking around or staring at the ceiling fan. There are only a few newborn outfits she can still wear....finally she's ready for 0-3 month clothes:) Ryan and I are having such a great time with her!!!
Yesterday was also Makena's 2 month check-up. She weighs 10 lb 5 oz (45th percentile) and is 22 1/2 inches (50th percentile). We were so excited to know that she's right on track with her measurements. She's come a long way since her 2 week appt. where all her measurements were in the 10th and 15th percentile!!! Go Makena;) After the measurements and check-up came the dreaded shots....3 of them. I'm happy to report that Makena did great and cried for all of 30 seconds. I on the other hand was a disaster....really!!! I told Ryan in the car on the way to the appt. that I felt like I was the one who was about to get the shots because my stomach really hurt and I was forgetting to breathe. When it was time for the shots I left the room (there was no way I could watch) and almost had a panic attack as I listened to her cry. When the nurse opened the door to let me back in she had a big smile on her face. I won't lie...I kind of wanted to punch her! Who has a giant smile on their face after they stick a 2 month old with 3 painful needles and make them cry...I mean really, does she have a heart. The good news is I'm over it and Makena will never remember:)
